Business Onboarding Guide

This guide walks through the 6-step wizard new businesses complete when they first sign up for Ciklek.

Overview

The onboarding wizard is at /onboarding and covers:

  1. Business Profile — name, address, industry vertical
  2. Contact Info — primary contact, billing email, phone
  3. Service Locations — pickup/delivery address(es)
  4. Parts Registration — add your blades, scissors, or other parts via QR scan or manual entry
  5. Subscription — choose a plan (Starter, Professional, Enterprise)
  6. Payment — link a credit card or ACH account via Stripe

Step 1 — Business Profile

Enter your legal business name, DBA name (if different), industry type (food processing, medical, textiles, industrial, etc.), and primary service address.

Tip: The industry type determines the default service types available to you. You can add custom service types later in Settings.

Step 2 — Contact Info

Provide:

  • Primary contact — the person who manages the account day-to-day
  • Billing email — invoices and receipts go here (can be different from login email)
  • SMS number — order status and pickup alerts

Step 3 — Service Locations

Add one or more locations where Ciklek will pick up and return parts. For each location:

  • Street address + suite/unit
  • Receiving hours (we'll only schedule within these windows)
  • Special access instructions (gate code, loading dock, etc.)

Step 4 — Parts Registration

Register the parts you want sharpened. You can:

Scan QR codes — If your parts already have QR stickers, open the camera and scan each one. The part is registered and linked to your account automatically.

Manual entry — Click "Add Part Manually" and fill in:

  • Part type (blade, scissor, saw, etc.)
  • Manufacturer + model (optional)
  • Serial number (optional)
  • Internal label/name (e.g. "Line 3 Knife A")

Ciklek will generate and mail QR sticker sheets for any manually-added parts.

Step 5 — Choose a Plan

Step 6 — Payment

Connect a payment method via Stripe. Ciklek accepts:

  • Credit/debit card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover)
  • ACH bank transfer (US banks only — 3-5 day settlement)
  • Invoice / NET 30 — Enterprise customers only, requires approval

Once payment is confirmed, your account is activated and your first pickup can be scheduled.


Post-Onboarding Checklist

  • [ ] Invite additional staff members (Admin → Users)
  • [ ] Set up pickup schedule preferences
  • [ ] Download the Ciklek mobile app (drivers and technicians)
  • [ ] Review your customer portal — share the link with your team
