Managing Your Parts
The Parts section of the portal gives you full visibility into every part registered under your account.
Part Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|--------|---------|
| with_customer | At your location |
| pickup_scheduled | Pickup confirmed — driver coming soon |
| in_transit_to_center | Driver has collected, heading to service center |
| at_service_center | Being sharpened or serviced |
| in_transit_back | Serviced, on the way back to you |
| delivered | Returned to your location |
| retired | Taken out of service (worn beyond repair) |
Wear Levels
Each part's wear level is updated after every service. The scale:
- 🟢 Good (8–10) — Plenty of life left
- 🟡 Fair (5–7) — Serviceable, monitor closely
- 🟠 Worn (3–4) — Near end of service life, plan for replacement
- 🔴 Replace (1–2) — Beyond safe service, retire from use
When a part reaches Worn or Replace, you'll receive an alert email.
Downloading QR Codes
- Go to Portal → Parts
- Click the part row → Download QR
- Print on a label sheet (Avery 5160 compatible) and apply to the part
For bulk QR download: click Download All QR Codes to get a PDF sheet of all parts.
Adding Parts Manually
- Click + Add Part
- Fill in:
- Part Type — blade, scissor, saw, medical, industrial, etc.
- Manufacturer / Model — (optional) for your records
- Serial Number — (optional) if the manufacturer labels the part
- Internal Label — your own name, e.g. "Line 3 Slicer"
- Click Save — the part is registered and a QR sticker will be mailed to you
Retiring a Part
When a part is no longer in use:
- Open the part record
- Click Retire Part
- The part status becomes
retiredand it's removed from future order selections
Retired parts remain in your history for audit purposes.
